2010-04-06 - ABB to attend IEEE later this month
The IEEE PES T&D Conference and Exhibition is quickly approaching, and ABB will again have a major presence at the bi-annual show, the largest T&D conference in North America, held this year at the Earnest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. The show dates this year are April 19-22, 2010.
Come visit ABB at its 4,000-foot booth at IEEE (Booth #1621, Hall H). The ABB booth won an award for “Best Booth” in the “Large Booth” Category at IEEE PES 2008 in Chicago, and ABB will again showcase hands-on product demonstrations and an interactive “landscape” map showing the many areas along the power supply chain where ABB offers power products, systems and solutions.
Grid Optimization
Many utilities today are considering large-scale grid optimization. At IEEE, ABB will be showcasing hands-on demonstrations and visual displays, and helping utility personnel establish a vision to meet their end-to-end grid optimization needs, answering such questions as: What options are available for managing my distribution grid? How can I best implement communications, automation and restoration technologies to improve grid reliability, capacity and efficiency? What security challenges will we face as the smart grid develops, and how should we address them in our smart grid strategy?
Grid Services
During this economic recession, many utilities have been asking how they can get more out of what they already have in lieu of replacing old and outdated power grid equipment. As the leading transmission and distribution solutions supplier in the world, and one of the most innovative engineering firms, ABB offers alternative grid services. At IEEE, ABB representatives will be on hand to offer unique grid services, lay out a vision for implementing services, and answering important questions like: What options are available to get more out of my existing grid infrastructure? What services and solutions are available for reducing my maintenance spending?
